Best free ftp app for Mac? I need an ftp pp for Mac, where is the best place to grab one for free please?
In general, Finder is not bad, but I think it is more useful for beginner mac users. My preferred alternative is Commander Onе. It includes a lot of different features and smooth operation. The secure FTP connection and fast file transfer made me still a user. www.reddit.com

In Ubuntu I use Terminator, and that works really great, I have installed Terminator with brew in my Mac and it doesn't work at all, not sure why, but before wasting my time in troubleshooting that installation I wanted to ask you what do you recommend as a terminal app?
I was still an Iterm user when this post was published, but since October or so I've started working with Commander One, no loss. In general Iterm is a fine tool, but it is not for newbies, it is initially difficult to config + Window resizing, especially with tmux integration, can get wonky. www.reddit.com

I use Commander One and added a favorite to the folder ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs which holds the iCloud files. www.reddit.com

I've been using Filezilla for a long time without issue, but I wonder if it's past its prime. What is everyone's favorite, most stable FTP for mac OS 10.14?
In general, a relevant question, but now there are a large number of programs on the market, which is difficult to say about the past, because all programs are very powerful and advanced and have many functions and support for work. Especially for me, Commander One is the most stable. www.reddit.com

What is a good database app to manage my cooks and photo collections on Mac?
Commander One (from apple's AppStore) developed by Eltima, is a very good (dual panel) FILE-MANAGER (kinda like old Norton Commander / nc or MidnightComander / mc) , it can show preview of photos & videos, etc etc, and can be customized in many ways. discussions.apple.com

Does anyone know a good Finder alternative that is more like Windows Explorer, but for Mac?
Probably Commander One. Check out a recent thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ger-to-finder-recommendations-please.2420081/ forums.macrumors.com

    best free file manager
Commander One is probably the closest, but it's still not the same. Trying to make the Mac work more like Windows is generally a futile effort, though. forums.macrumors.com

    Best Finder alternative
While Pathfinder offers some convenience, Commander One takes the crown for Mac users. I work on my Mac each and every day. I genuinely can't fathom people's love for Path Finder or Forklift, it's a mystery to me... They either haven't used Commander One or don't even know it exists. What is really important for me is constant software support, features improvement and quick bug fixes, if there is one. Based on my personal experience, Forklift is far inferior in this aspect, but Path Finder is even more so. forums.macrumors.com

What is the best FTP software for a Mac?
Commander One is a free file manager for Mac OS X. The program is very similar to Total Commander, and the design style is similar to Norton Commander. The application allows you to work with files using two panels, supports searching using regular expressions. Since this program is designed for Mac OS X, it will be useful for advanced users to work with hidden files and folders. www.quora.com

How do you move folders from one location to another on a Mac without dragging them?
Unfortunately the Finder does not support moving a file without using your mouse. I still really like it and usually don't requiere any additional features. I especially like the column view and the very quick and powerful search. Fortunately there are alternative file managers Namely "Commander One" which I occasionally use (it costs 30$ for the PRO features). It supports keyboard only copying and moving. www.quora.com

Can't transfer files larger than 2GB to FAT32 USBs on MacOS HighSierra
This bug doesn't seem so much to be a problem of the APFS filesystem that High Sierra introduced - its replacement to HFS+ - but of Finder itself. For that reason, as oa pointed out in his answer, the bug can also be worked around for now by simply using an alternative file manager like Transmit or Commander One1 until Apple decides to release the fix. superuser.com

Is there a “Move selected file to folder…” command in OSX?
As far as I know you can only use a drag and drop to move an item in Finder. You simply drag it, then drop it where you want it. Your other option is to use an alternative to Finder - there are plenty available (Commander One, Moroshka, Files Lite) superuser.com
